BIET ENDA GABR - QUENHAYLA

MY MOTHER’S CHURCH.

This was the church my mom attended when she was growing up, as did her dad before her. Situated at the top of a rocky hill, Enda Gabr’s green doors welcomes journeyers to the village. Less than 100 feet away from my mom’s familial home.

Above: Here I am standing in the bell tower on church grounds.

Above: My POV standing in the bell tower. My mom smiles posing near the church.

Above: One of my favorite artworks in this church has to be this central image of God (or Jesus) surrounded by layers of the universe: zodiac constellations, followed by heavenly angels, us humans on Earth, and the depths of hell.
